Wild Green
A malachite collection made for Qixi. May you meet the right one.
Wild Green is a malachite collection made for Qixi, the seventh night of the seventh lunar month, when the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl are said to meet on a bridge of magpies. Malachite is often associated with love, intuition and protection. It has long been regarded as a noble stone, a saturated, lustrous green that is quietly luxurious; in ancient Rome it is said to have been offered to the goddess Juno as a token of protection and good fortune. Here its banded greens are set against gold-toned chains, cross-shaped spacers and a bamboo link, across necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Each stone passes through a cleansing ritual before it is set: our way of wishing the wearer well, and of wishing that the right person finds them.

Inspiration and meaning
Made for Qixi, the seventh night of the seventh lunar month, when the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl are said to meet on a bridge of magpies. Malachite is the stone of the series: often associated with love, intuition and protection, long regarded as a noble stone, and said to have been offered to the goddess Juno in ancient Rome as a token of protection and good fortune. 野生翠色, wild green, names its banded, saturated green. Each stone passes through a cleansing ritual before it is set, the makers’ way of wishing the wearer well: may you meet the right one.
